Lots of firsts for our first born this weekend.
We started off the weekend on Friday night by convincing him to wear underwear to bed because he is a big boy and we knew that he could do it! Sure enough, he did it and stayed dry all weekend. At just a little over 3, I am so proud of him for taking on potty training himself and accomplishing everything we ask of him.
Second, was his first college football game. We took him to the Purdue spring game on Saturday and he loved it! Ok, so he might have been more interested in the band but he still had a great time.
Third, this one was a big deal in our house, little mister tried his first oyster. He has always been around a lot of seafood since he was little but we’ve been cautious about letting him try oysters and other bivalves.
Made for a great weekend! We have a couple more fun weekends coming up., look for more in the next couple of weeks!
Right before we celebrated he big birthday, we squeezed in a quick trip to the midwest. It was an experience and of course someone decided to make it more fun by getting sick. We think he was just run down and tired but he rebounded nicely for the family to arrive for his birthday.
Since Uncle Sam wasn’t going to be able to attend Mr. G’s birthday, he came for a quick visit before heading off to Scotland. Unfortunately, Mr. G wasn’t feeling too hot that weekend and so finally on Uncle Sam’s last night here, we celebrated his birthday a little early with some sugar (an ice cream cupcake) and presents!
In January, we will have been together 9 years. We had never been to the movie theater until we went on Wednesday night. Why? Well we were just more comfortable sitting at home on our couch in our sweatpants to watch a movie. We aren’t the type of people that have to see a movie as soon as it comes out and we typically enjoy dinner and drinks more as date night.
When Sean mentioned to me a couple of weeks ago that he was hoping that I would be up for something a little different I didn’t really expect him to suggest going to the movies. Then he told me that he wanted to go see “Home Alone” in an old theater in Baltimore. I am really glad he did. It was a lot of fun and the theater is really cool.
This was the inside the lobby.
This was us in our seats. I wish this picture would have come out not so pixelated but it is what it is.
This was the front of the theater. The curtain opened when the movie started to play. It was very pretty and very old school. I would say that we had a pretty memorable first movie theater experience. It was a lot of fun but I think in the future I will stick with my couch and sweatpants.
Well just over a week ago my parents, brother and grandfather were headed back home from a somewhat action packed weekend. A great weekend and one that left me completely exhausted.
They landed on Thursday night and thank goodness for my husband offering to pick them up because I am not sure this pregnant girl’s bladder would have lasted both ways without having to park and go into the restroom.
Friday, the family took off for Washington D.C. while Sean and I went to work.
Dinner was ready as soon as they got home. I made these awesome Gluten Free Chicken and Dumplings. They didn’t even taste gluten free! Friday night the moon was super cool looking. Dad and I went out and rigged up the camera to take a couple of pictures. After just a little bit of editing, here is what we were saw that night.
Saturday was a slow morning. Once we finally got moving we went to the Conowingo Dam, where we have been with both my parents and Aunt and Uncle. It was awesome and we saw more Eagles than we have ever seen before. We all enjoyed it a lot.
Dinner was crabcakes and shrimp on Saturday.
Sunday was incredibly laid back. We went to church, followed by lunch at Broom’s Bloom and doing a few things around the house. It was nice to be home for the day.
Monday morning was a very early morning for us. I took everyone to the airport by 6:30 am and I was then off to Jury Duty for the day.
It was a great weekend but I was definitely exhausted and ready for some sleep when they left! i can’t wait to see them at Christmas.
