Recipes from the Farm – Holy Moly a lot!

As I was thinking on my way home today, I couldn’t remember what food that I had taken pictures of last week for this weeks version of “Recipes from the Farm”. When I got home to look at the camera SD card, I was pleasantly surprised by about four different recipes.

Are you ready for this?

Here we go! First up is one of my favorite spring strawberry drinks. This was a recipe that my family tried to replicate from a Strawberry Festival near our house.

It is super easy and honestly you put everything in the blender and blend.

1 Small handfull of fresh Strawberries
1/2 cup of ice
A couple of squirts of Strawberry syrup

Enjoy!

 

Next up was a full dinner! This one was actually pretty easy too with lots of flavor. Grilled caprese chicken with steamed broccoli with parmesan.

The chicken we actually grilled inside on the stove because that weather wasn’t cooperating. Once I had the grilled chicken on the plate I sprinkled with fresh basil, mozzarella cheese and put a tomato on top. I also drizzled balsamic vinaigrette over the top.

This got good ratings from both Sean and myself. It was very good and I will probably make again soon!

The broccoli I just steamed with garlic, and then put a little bit of butter and parmesan over the top. Yummy and a great compliment to the chicken.

The whole dinner was very good! I am sure that I will have more broccoli recipes to to come. I don’t think we are quite done getting it yet!

Last up was something that my mom used to do a lot but I added my own little twist this time. This was another asparagus recipe. I used balsamic vinaigrette  over the steamed asparagus and then sprinkled some lemon pepper over the top. It gave it the right amount of sweet and sour taste. I think I could eat this all the time!
DSCN4347This got good ratings from Mr. Sean as well, even though he is getting tired of eating asparagus every week! Next week I promise I won’t include a recipe for asparagus. Maybe something new!
