Happy Father’s Day

We spend Father’s day with Sean’s parents. One of his dad’s favorite things to eat are crabs, which makes it easy on me because we can just go to the little place around the corner and get steamed crabs. We did it last year one time and it was about time to do it again. So we got steamed crabs but his mom isn’t a huge fan of picking crabs. I decided to try to make crab cakes(her favorite). The crab place also had soft shell crabs (which his dad loves) and I successfully was able to cook. The crab cakes turned out more like a blob but they were still pretty good.
DSCN4356DSCN4358According to Sean’s dad the soft shells were cooked just right and the crab cakes were good even though they were more of a blob! I also made some dijon slaw and zucchini to go along with it! All very good as well!

Soft Shell Crabs by Emeril

Crab Cake Recipe

Zucchini – sauteed with onion and garlic

Slaw – One package of slaw, 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1/2 cup of dijon mustard, pepper to taste. Mix everything together in a bowl. Refrigerate for a little while before serving!
